Our Classroom News

Can you believe that summer is ending in just a few days?  Maybe you’re like me and have many feelings about that!  Summer always seems short, but I am also very excited to meet you and start our 3rd grade adventure!

Our first day of school is Monday, August 21st. We are going to have so much fun learning to know one another this year!  Here’s a little bit about me before we get the year
started.  I live in Waynesboro with my husband and our six year old son.  We like to do a lot of fun things like riding bikes at the park, swimming at Northside, and playing baseball in our backyard.  Some of my favorite things include reading novels, scrapbooking, taking walks outside, and hiking.  We also love to go to new restaurants, especially if they have something with chocolate and peanut butter for dessert!  You’ll find that I LOVE
chocolate and peanut butter!  :)

One exciting thing for our family is that we will be welcoming a little Baby Beeler into our family just before Christmas!   This means that I will most likely miss the last few weeks of school in December, and then a month or so at the beginning of the 2018.  Don’t worry, though; I’ll be back in time for us to make sure everyone is ready for the PSSAs in the spring.

On the first day of school, please bring the dismissal information paper with you so that your parents and I can be on the same page about how you are going home.  It would also be helpful if you could bring the items that were listed in your last 2nd grade report card.  The office has additional copies if you need.

Also, tell your parents to put this Thursday, August 17th on the calendar! This is our Open House night at Fairview. We will meet in the gym at 7:30, and then we will get to show your parents our classroom.  If at all possible, please try to attend this evening so that I can let your parents know some important things that are different about third grade!

Third grade is an exciting year because we start doing many things that you may have heard about such as Study Island, AR tests, and the PSSAs!  Don’t worry, we have a lot of time to practice what we are learning before we take those big tests!

Finally, I want to give you directions to our classroom since the 3rd grade teachers are
finally in one pod!  Our room is easy to find!  When you leave the office area, we are the first pod on your left.  Our room is at the very back of the pod on the left hand side.  I have a big
beehive on my door, and there’s a sign that says “Mrs. Beeler” above the door.

I hope that you enjoy the last few days of summer!  I can’t wait to meet you at 8:40 on Monday morning!

Mrs. Beeler
